A Comprehensive Free-Breathing Protocol for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Imaging of Ischemia and Cardiomyopathies: a Feasibility Study

چکیده
Background Despite recent advances in cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging, exams are still considered long and challenging from a technical perspective as well as demanding for patients who have to repeatedly perform multiple breath-holds (BH). Free-breathing (FB) sequences have been developed for distinct applications but they are usually performed in isolation within a traditional protocol that still requires BH based acquisitions. We studied the feasibility of a complete FB exam for the assessment of ischemia and cardiomyopathies integrating different prototype sequences.

Resting-state Functional Connectivity During Controlled Respiratory Cycles Using Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Introduction: This study aimed to assess the effect of controlled mouth breathing during the resting state using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). Methods: Eleven subjects participated in this experiment in which the controlled “Nose” and “Mouth” breathings of 6 s respiratory cycle were performed with a visual cue at 3T MRI. Voxel-wise seed-to-voxel maps and whole-brain region of i...
متن کاملSafety of adenosine stress magnetic resonance imaging using a mobile cardiac magnetic resonance system.
BACKGROUND Contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (ceMRI) allows for the detection of ischemic heart disease. Aim of this prospective study was to show feasibility, practicability and safety of adenosine stress ceMRI in routine outpatients with a mobile scanner. METHODS Consecutive patients were scanned in six different cardiac outpatient centers with a 1.5 T mobile ceMRI scanner. First...
متن کاملCombined long- and short-axis myocardial perfusion cardiovascular magnetic resonance.
PURPOSE To date, myocardial perfusion cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) has been reported in single and multiple short-axis slices. Three short-axis planes can assess 16 segments of the standard 17-segment myocardial model, but this approach fails to assess the ventricular apex that requires at least one long-axis plane. We therefore evaluated the feasibility and benefit of combined long-...
متن کاملThe Correlation between Left and Right Ventricular Ejection Fractions in Patients with Ischemic Heart Disease, Documented by Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Introduction: The correlation between right and left ventricular ejection fractions (RVEF and LVEF, respectively) has been studied in only a small number of patients with a marked decrease in RVEF and LVEF. The aim of the present study was to compare LVEF and RVEF in patients with ischemic heart disease. RVEF and LVEF were measured by Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CMR) imaging. Materials a...
متن کاملMagnetic Resonance Imaging Assessment of Hip Abductor after Total Hip Arthroplasty Using a Direct Lateral Approach
Background: Surgical techniques and rehabilitations after total hip arthroplasty (THA) play a significant role in theimprovement of pain and limping. This study aimed to assess hip abductor muscle’s diameter and its strength after 6months postoperative THA performed by Hardinge approach. Methods: After obtaining the patients’ demographic characteristics, the preoperative values...
